It’s been a phenomenal year for our Data Center Systems group. From the demands of Big Data to the immediacy of Fast Data, we’ve unveiled innovative solutions and software-composed architectures that enable data to be captured, preserved, accessed and transformed at increasing scale, durability, and performance. Building on that momentum, we’re very excited to have Tony Chang join the Western Digital team as VP of Engineering for the IntelliFlash™ product line.
Tony brings to us an extensive and accomplished track record of leading global engineering teams in the enterprise storage field. Most recently, Tony was the Executive VP of Engineering for Tintri where he led accelerated innovation and brought significant advances in development methodology.
As businesses look for ways to be faster and smarter, Tintri was a worthy competitor in their journey of transformation and they acquired many happy reseller partners and customers with its VMstore™ product line. Similarly, Western Digital’s IntelliFlash product line has made a huge investment in seamlessly supporting virtualized environments. Our product line is built for mission critical, virtualized, and primary data center workloads, and it is loved by VMware® users for its extreme performance, management simplicity and exceptional economics.
As we continue to grow and invest in the IntelliFlash product line, Tony will be instrumental in accelerating our customers’ success through product innovation and capabilities, market leadership, and increased value.
Furthermore, Tony will be able to leverage Western Digital’s unique capability to holistically engineer and deliver solutions from the wafer and platter all the way to systems. This Symbiotics DesignTM approach, is an integrative method that enables us to tune and optimize a complete ecosystem of technologies to deliver superior products with better durability, cost effectiveness and performance over a longer life cycle.
As the role of data evolves, organizations need to transform their data strategy and infrastructure. We are proud to be leading this transformation and helping organizations succeed by delivering the performance, reliability, total cost of ownership and sustainability demanded by today’s and tomorrow’s data environments.
