WD: Providing the Foundation for the AI-Driven Data Economy
Today marks an important milestone for our company. With the launch of our new brand and logo, Western Digital is now known simply as WD.
This change reflects how our customers, partners, and employees already refer to us – and it reflects who we have become. WD is a data center company, critical to the growth of AI, and focused on delivering the infrastructure required to scale it. We are a company in motion, built for what comes next.
Reaching this moment took sustained focus. Over the past year, we aligned to a clear set of goals: Building deeper strategic relationships with our customers, driving innovation faster than ever before, sharpening our operational and financial execution, and cultivating a culture of shared values.
And our commitment to reaching our goals mattered. As AI and cloud workloads have driven a surge in demand for data storage, it became clear that only HDDs could provide the scale, reliability and cost efficiency needed to support AI infrastructure. WD was ready to meet the moment.
Today, 90 percent of our business is now tied to data centers, AI and cloud, and we have multi-year agreements in place with our core customers, who rely on us for long-term capacity planning. Furthermore, we were added to the Nasdaq 100 at the end of 2025, and we were a top performer in the S&P 500.
So what’s next for us at WD? Continuing to meet the needs of our customers, an even stronger focus on accelerating path-breaking innovation, and driving a new era of growth for our business. We’re excited for what’s ahead, and can’t wait for the new opportunities in store for us. Because in an industry defined by complexity, scale, and the need for reliability, what matters most is not just how much capacity you can deliver, but how confidently you can deliver it.
We drive certainty for the AI era. We are WD.
