This morning we launched a fully redesigned westerndigital.com—and it’s more than a visual makeover. This new site truly reflects who Western Digital is today.
If you have been witness to Western Digital for the past six years, you might be familiar with our journey. We have made some notable acquisitions with HGST, SanDisk and Tegile. Integrated people, technology, products and customers. We’ve added to a broadly differentiated portfolio. But, what’s most remarkable to me is being part of a transformative, agile and bold organization that is unified through a passion for innovation.
This passion has allowed us to develop a tremendous set of capabilities within the three main pillars of technology—storage, compute and networking.
Western Digital lives everywhere data lives. We are stewards of the information that fuels our data-centric lives. We are also foundational to the data ecosystem that surrounds us, from the edge to the cloud and the bits in between. This intimacy has given us unique insight in developing next-generation data infrastructure and technologies. We understand the environments where data lives and we optimize the infrastructure to extract its value.
Being at the nexus of technology and data fuels our passion for innovation. Innovation that helps realize the potential of AI, precision medicine, IoT, autonomous cars, climate science and beyond.
As we continue to grow Western Digital through our people and our investments, expand our areas of expertise and continually broaden and deepen our product portfolio, we want our brand to best represent why we exist, what we believe in, and where we’re headed.
A modern design featuring Western Digital branded products for data center as well as mobility, edge and computing applications (transitioning from Tegile™, HGST and select products from SanDisk® and WD®).
Quick navigation to our personal storage products sites under our SanDisk®, WD®, UpThere™ and G-Technology™
Insights from technology visionaries and pioneers about game-changing approaches to everything from memory-centric computing and persistent memory solutions, to new advancements in AI, machine learning and real-time analytics.
I encourage you to visit www.westerndigital.com and follow our journey as we explore new frontiers so the world can fully realize the value of data.
In October 2015, Mike Cordano became president and chief operating officer of Western Digital. Prior to that, Cordano served as president of HGST, a Western Digital Corporation company. A 20-year veteran of the storage industry, Cordano previously was executive vice president of Sales and Marketing and president of Branded Business for HGST, where he led the external storage business in addition to the company's worldwide sales and marketing organizations. In this capacity, Cordano played a key role in architecting HGST's corporate strategy and executing its successful financial turn-around. Western Digital acquired HGST in March 2012. Prior to HGST, Cordano was CEO and co-founder of Fabrik, Inc., a leading provider of portable and external storage solutions, including the award-winning G-Technology and SimpleTech product lines. Fabrik, financed by top venture capital firms, including Intel Capital, was acquired by HGST in April 2009. Before co-founding Fabrik, Cordano was executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Maxtor Corporation. At Maxtor he formed and managed the Branded Products Business Unit, creating break-through product categories, such as the Maxtor OneTouch external storage and backup solution, which ultimately defined the category. Cordano’s background also includes several regional and international management assignments. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Colorado.
