To the kids who discovered their passion for designing and building robots in after-school clubs, the students who spent their summers developing games as often as they played them, and the scholars who dream of becoming STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) professionals, this one’s for you!
The Western Digital Scholarship Program was established to help realize the potential of future scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians, as well as the dependents of our talented workforce. This global program is committed to awarding up to $1 million in scholarships to encourage and assist students whose educational opportunities could be expanded by financial assistance. Because when we uplift students to reach their goals, we all win.
As part of the company’s commitment to support diversity and inclusion in education around the globe, our combined Scholarship Program is made up of:
- Western Digital Scholarships for STEM – Available to students pursuing STEM education in the US, Japan, China, India, Israel, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.
- We.care Scholarships – Open to Western Digital employee dependents.
The combined scholarship program is a donor-involved scholarship fund of Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF). Through SVCF, we partner with key organizations including International Scholarship and Tuition Services (ISTS) and ATIDIM to identify students fitting our applicant profile, process applications, award the scholarships and provide support services to scholarship recipients.
Western Digital Scholarships for STEM
The Western Digital Scholarships for STEM program was created to address the unmet educational needs of high potential students around the globe pursuing STEM-related degrees. Our goal is to provide increased access to STEM education to under-represented and under-privileged youth at a global scale.
We.care Scholarships for Employee Dependents
We.care Scholarships are available to support the educational pursuits of high-achieving dependents of our Western Digital employees. Coming from a pool of such talent, these high achievers are numerous. It is our pleasure to provide extra encouragement for their academic success through financial assistance.
